Hannah's thesis is entitles "Experimental and Theoretical Study of Carbon Dynamics in an Algal-Bacterial Co-Culture". The thesis reports a pioneering study of the transfer of carbon from photosynthetic vitamin-dependent algae to heterotrophic vitamin-producing bacteria. Hannah combined challenging time-resolved combined secondary ion mass spec (SIMS) experiments of labelled baceteria and algae in co-culture, with mechanistc mathematical model describing the nutrient kinetics. A fantastic achievement, well done Hannah!
