Frontiers is a publisher of open access journals based at the University of Lausanne. It was funded in 2007 by a group neuroscientists and was one of the first next generation open access journal challenging the traditional scientific publishing model. Since the initial focus on neuroscience, Frontiers has rapidly expanded and now includes a Frontiers in Physics, including a recently launched biophysics subsection. Otti was recently invited to become review editor for this journal. He looks forward to contributing to this 'open-access, community rooted' journal.
